West Mersea Recycling Centre

Check before travelling

The site accepts household waste from eligible Essex residents. Booking rules, accepted materials and seasonal opening hours can change, so check the current Love Essex page before setting out.

Upland Road

The recycling centre is north-east of the main West Mersea shopping streets, off Upland Road. It is a functional service site rather than a visitor attraction.

Booking and restrictions

Essex County Council currently requires most car users to book a slot. Blue Badge holders, pedestrians and cyclists may be treated differently under the current rules, and some waste types are restricted.
