The public library on the High Street
West Mersea Library is at 13 High Street, CO5 8QA. The present branch opened in November 1972 and provides Essex Library Service lending, reading and public-computer facilities.
Children's rhyme sessions, craft activities, language conversation groups and local-history or family-history events appear in the county library events programme. Activities vary, and some require booking.
Family-history help
Family-history support and other sessions are advertised through the county library events programme. Sessions and bookings change, so ask the branch before making a special journey.
Parking and access
The High Street public car park is directly behind the library. It is not a private library car park. Public toilets are also listed in the area behind the library by West Mersea Town Council.
Nearby
The library is in the town centre, within a short walk of the Post Office, community centre, shops and the parish church. Its High Street address makes it a useful indoor stop during a visit to West Mersea.
